British Council offers IELTS test at eight different locations in Pakistan including: Peshawar, Islamabad, Gujrat, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad and Karachi. You can choose one of the cities that is most convenient to you.
The Government of Punjab has levied General Sales Tax (GST) @ 16 % with effect from 27-Nov-2014.
Candidates registering with Gujrat, Lahore, Faisalabad or Multan centre, for test dates from 17 March 2015 onwards will be subject to above tax. Test fee for these centres will be PKR 23,200/- (inclusive of Punjab government sales tax).
However, please note that the GST will not be applicable to the candidates registering with Peshawar, Islamabad, Hyderabad or Karachi centres. The fee for these centres will remain PKR 20,000/-
Test Venue Details
Due to popular demand there are a limited number of places for all our IELTS test sessions. To make sure you get a place, we recommend that you register two months before your chosen test date. Of course, places may be available after this date.
To reduce the chances of disappointment please send us your payment promptly so that we receive your payment at our offices no later than 7 working days from your online application and at least 5 days before your test.
Candidates will get their test venue details at least 3 days before the test (speaking or writing) by e mail and sms. If you do not receive this information within the stated time, you should contact your respective Centre immediately.
Candidates will be expected to bring a copy of their venue e mail to the venue on test day.
Please note that the Speaking interviews may be conducted up to seven days before or after the writing test.
Candidate reporting time: 1130 hrs.
Test start time: 1300 hrs.
Approximate test ending time: 1600 hrs.
IELTS Candidate Identity Verification
Except CNIC and Passport no other type of ID document is acceptable. Candidates without an original and valid ID document will not be allowed to take the test and will be marked absent on the test date and will lose their full test fee.
Candidates taking the test outside their own country can only register with valid passport.
As a part of our ongoing commitment to test security, all photographs for the use on Test Report Form and candidate records will be captured on your first interaction with us i.e. either the speaking test or the written test.
Upload your Identification Document:
To complete your registration upload a clear valid copy of your CNIC/Passport using this service. Please upload the relevant document you are registered with. If you are registering with CNIC, upload both sides of this as a one document. *Note – This facility is not to be used to upload photographs
While paying online through your VISA or Master Card please ensure you are using the latest versions of internet browser and have good internet connection speed. If you face any issue please contact us and also fill in our Online Payment survey so we can further investigate the problem.
If you are paying via Standard Chartered Bank, please submit registration summary page and Standard Chartered Bank Pink deposit Slip or demand draft/PO in favour of British Council Pakistan no later than 7 working days from your online application and at least 5 days before your test date
What you must have on the test day:
• Original and valid Computerised National Identity Card OR Passport (the one you registered with) along with the venue letter.
• Clear photocopy of your ID document (the one you registered with)
• Writing instruments
IELTS Test Results
If you would like to request for additional copies of your results - up to a maximum of five (5) copies - to be sent to universities abroad, free of charge, then please include the complete addresses on your application form. This service is only offered for free at the time of registration and within four weeks of the test.
Please ensure that you give a courier serviceable address on the application form. Please do not give P.O. Box Numbers.
IELTS is not recommended for candidates under 16. If they wish to take the test they may.
